Behavior and Training Classes
Did you know that the Animal Rescue League provides training classes for dogs of all ages?
Puppy Kindergarten classes have begun! Puppies must be 8-16 weeks of age and be current on vaccinations. When you adopt a puppy from us, the puppy class is included in the adoption fee (the puppy must be between 8 and 16 weeks of age to be eligible for the free classes). The Animal Rescue League offers this program to help socialize your puppy and teach him or her basic manners and commands such as potty training, watch me, chewing, sit, down, stay, and come on call, plus much more!
We also offer classes for adult dogs who may have developed some bad habits along the way. These classes help you and your dog to better understand each other and help refine your dog’s manners. Drop It, Leave It, Take It, Stand, Stay, and more are included.
Our goal is to prevent bad habits and mold your dog into the best he can be so you and your family can enjoy all your dog has to offer. Our trainers will also discuss food aggression, introduce new sights, sounds, and textures, teach fun tricks, and answer any questions about your dog’s behavior. All classes are 6 weeks long.
- Puppy Classes are for puppies 8-16 weeks of age and cost $75.00 (except for puppies adopted from ARL)
- Basic Classes are for dogs over 16 weeks and cost $75.00
- Private Classes/ Behavior Consults available for most behavioral problems. Costs vary.
Small Dog Classes are Available
Much of the time, smaller dogs do not adjust well to a group class environment. Usually the majority of the dogs are medium to larger breeds, and it can be an overwhelming experience for them. This class is directed specifically towards the needs of our smaller furry friends, focusing on socialization skills and basic manners.
Dogs do not need to be spayed or neutered if under 10 months of age and are attending Puppy Class (spay and neutering is strongly recommended)
Dogs must be spayed or neutered if over 10 months of age to be eligible to participate in training class
This class does not run on a regular schedule. Our trainer will need to have your information on file before you attend. You will need to fill out and send the Student Profile to our trainer, located at the bottom of the page. Please specify which class you plan on attending.
